LOMS Students Get a Taste for Reading

Mrs. Elmore's 5th graders had a blast this week at The American Book Bistro! Students were able to "sample" books from a variety of genres, giving each story a quick read and then rating them from A to F. Last week, Mrs. Hughes’ ELAR students took part in a "Book Tasting." They visited tables filled with books from various genres, read the summaries and first few pages, and got a feel for what each book had to offer. 

These activities provide our students with valuable opportunities to explore different genres they may not encounter otherwise, helping to foster a love for reading that will last them into adulthood.
